Dears
I have a question which is confusing me. I had a stool test on 2018 September 15th which was negative. And then my symptoms still remained so the doctor decided to do an endoscopy on 2018 November 20th which came back positive for h pylori. The doctor diagnosed it via HelocotecUT Plus. My question is how can a stool test be negative and then the endoscopy positive. I’ve been infected with h pylori since 2018 March and had triple therapy once and just finished my second course after being diagnosed again.
Is this normal ?

Re: H pylori Stool test negative and endoscopy biopsy positive ?
interesting result. Usually stool antigen test is accurate. Then again, it's skill dependent. whoever conducted the test may affect the accuracy of the test.
The stool test can sometime be affected by PPI or food that you eat. Then again, that would apply to the HelocotecUT Plus test you did.
The HelocotecUT Plus (which is a rapid urease test), is sensitive enough. But I wonder how positive is the HelocotecUT Plus. Did your doctor get a histology test done?
getting a contradicting results from different test can happen sometimes. Usually happens when the bacterial load is very low.
Nevertheless, if your gastroenterologist is confident with the HelocotecUT Plus result, then he should prescribe you a treatment different from your previous treatment.

Re: H pylori Stool test negative and endoscopy biopsy positive ?
The doctor was confident about the results and gave me a course of four treapy. In other words , 4 different pills.
I was diagnosed with th h pylori twice via endoscopy.
First time th blood test was negative and then endoscopy positive and now stool test negative and endoscopy.
This is really confusing to me.

blood test is almost never false negative. Having two negative tests suggest that the endoscopy test may not be accurate.
Nevertheless, you are already taking antibiotics. You'll have to finish the course to prevent resistance.

Re: H pylori Stool test negative and endoscopy biopsy positive ?
My stool test also came out negative. As symptoms persisted I asked for an endoscopy. Result: H.Pylori positive. Did two rounds of antibiotics. After first one breath-test confirmed that bacteria were still present. Did quadruple therapy. Five months later did an endoscopy again with quick urease test, which confirmed eradication. So, I wouldn't trust the stool-test very much. Good luck with your treatment!

I also had the same, negative tests until it came to the endoscopy which was positive.
i do admit it is a weird one because if it was found earlier with the other tests i could have started treating it years earlier.
