Hi,

I was getting bloating and stomach pain from 04:00 P.M onwards everyday since last 30 days now. The pain was unbearable at night and I was unable to sleep well.

My doctor administered the following:

Week1:
Rabiprazole with Domperidone, Magaldrate and Simethicone syrup

Week2:
Endoscopy: showed the following:
1. Circopharnyx is normal. Oesophagus shows normal mucosa.
2. GE junction is at 40 cm.
3. Fundus, body and pylorus of stomach are moderately inflamed.
4.Lumen contained bilious fluid about 100 cc in fasting state.
5. Small erosions are noticed at fundus & body mucosa.
6. Antral mucosa is inflammed and edematous.
7. Duodenal bulb is inflammed.
8. Erosions are noticed at inflammed D1 mucosa.

Serum Amylase: 52 U/L (Normal)
Ultrasound: Sonologically normal study of whole abdomen

Hence, Change of course
Omeprazole 20mg, Normaxin, Perinorm

Week3:
Perinorm, Omeprazole 30mg, Metronidazole(400mg), Amoxicilin(500mg)
Sucralfate Suspension

Week-4.
I was taken-off all medications.
New Medication: Neo-peptin syrup after each meal.
I was also asked to eat Yogurt three times a day.

I was on Fibre diet only for 3 days wherein I was normal. After that I started eating cereals including wheat and rice after which the issue returned though less severe. The pain still returns everyday between 04:00 P.M - 05:00 P.M though the pain is less severe.

Please suggest what to do.

Current symptoms:
1. Burping
2. Gas in the evening which stays till next morning
3. Pain in the stomach

Hi, i was diagnosed with h pylori after a breath test, however i never experienced any symptom but the doctoe advised to be treated with triple therapy. I finished it, got cured and made sure all was ok with another breath test that confirmed the eradiction. However 3 weeks after stopping treatment : i started experiecing burping, sore throat , and sensation of reflux without heartburn. I was told by my GI that it could be a reflux and i took PPI again for 2 weeks now without any improvement. Im getting worried if this is from the triple treatment or is it something not related at all. Thank you to everyone

did you wait 2-4 weeks before the follow up breath test? assuming that you did. Some people does develop reflux symptom after triple therapy. PPI is the treatment for the symptom for now. hopefully it will gradually subside.

Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

I have few more queries:
1. Can you please suggest what to eat and what to avoid in my case. I've observed that fibre only diet helps me with the pain but the body weakens after fibre diet for 2-3 days.

2 Also, is it normal to have stomach pain in the evening which stays till night ?

3. I was on H Pylori Kit for 7 days only. Why not 14 days regimen was advised ?

4. Does it seem like H Pylori has returned ? How would I know for sure ?

there is no guideline to what food to eat after treatment. Usually Prof Marshall would advise patients to have some Vit C and something easy to digest. Not too much fiber and fruit with hard skin.

the pain is hard to explain. I assume your doctor has done all the checks and did not find anything particular. So there is no need to worry. Hopefully as your microbiome slow comes back, your condition will gradually improve.

14 days treatment has slightly higher cure rate than 10-days and 10-days treatment has slightly higher cure rate than 7 days. Then again, the longer the treatment, the more side effect you'll experience. So I assume your doctor is experienced enough to know manage the side effect and the cure rate of 7 days.

the best way to find out if you still have H. pylori is to do a follow up breath test. But you need to wait 4 weeks without any medication before the breath test.

did anyone experience breathing issues? I’m almost positive mine is related. I can’t seem to get air to the very bottom of my lungs or take a deep breath. I do get a little relief if I sigh or yawn. My chest feels very heavy. I’m sure this is not aniexty related.

Me...I got nasty pressure in mys stomach as my main concern 2 weeks after first line of treatment. When I talk sometime, I have to stop, as I can't get enough air when the tight band is present.
When I eat, I get stomach flu symptoms like mild temperature elevation (99.5) and massive belching, then later on, the tightness and short of breath. Sometimes I get this even without food. It is nasty.

I ran to ER to have my heart checked (the pressure is similar to heart attack, but the location is a bit lower, in the gastric area)...and of course, they laughed at me
