borderline means the result is un-determined. It's neither positive nor negative. You just have to do the test again a month or two later.

Breath and stool tests, which is more reliable?

They are both reliable. However, the accuracy is dependent on who is running the test. if you buy the test from websites and do it yourself, you may not be experienced enough to give accurate result.

What is your take on negative stool and positive breath test.

In my case doctor ignored my breath test which was positive and went with stool test which was negative. Does that mean Iam actually negative?

if the cut off is 40 and your reading is 398, it looks high enough to be true positive.

perhaps you need to wait another month to repeat the breath test just for sure.
