Hi and thank you for your response.
The stool test just said positive no raw value. I do have a raw value for the blood test, 0.7 with <0.9 being negative, 0.9-1.1 indeterminate, >1.1 positive. I repeated the blood test at 3 labs and the values were very close.
I did try to switch to ranitidine also, but could only do it for 5 days, it was not as good as the ppi and the pain was getting worse and worse. I did a stool test right at the 5th day and it was again negative. I havent tried a breath test though.

if you are infected with HP before, your immune system will have memory and your blood test will stay positive for a long time even after HP eradication. Some anti-HP antibody can remain the body for months or years.

So if you are free of HP, your immune system will gradually forgot about HP and that's why a negative blood test is almost always true. A positive blood test may be because of the memory, not the current infection status.

So stick with your PPI. if omeprazole is not good, switch to rabeprazole.
