I am not familiar with bismuth subcarbonate. I suppose it will work. As long as it's prescribed by your doctor. He can monitor your side effects.

I assume doxytet is doxycycline.
Doxycycline is a strong antibiotic against H. pylori. It should work.

Helo this is day number 8 while taking these antibiotics there are no significant changes should i wait a couple of weeks to see what happens while on ppi ..im now worried
Re: Does this work to eradicate h pylori
Hi there..
Almost two months since I finished triple therapy.
I stopped taking ppis for 20 days and then had a rapid urea test which came negative, however, I still have very discomforting bloating all the time. I need to burp after every couple of minutes and If I don't, it creates pressure in my throat.
I believe the results of RUT are not accurate. The colour of the specimen did not turn yellow completely–it was mild yellow and had a little reddish shade. Does it suggests that bacteria had not been eradicated completely?
Thereafter, GI suggested to once again start the ppis but I have noticed lately that ppis worsens my indigestion and discomfort. Even the GI is very startled and confused with my situation. He seems to have used everything possible to cure the disease and now he avoids listening me anymore. He keeps insisting me to stuck with ppis and prescribed rablet capsules (20 mg rabeprazole+30 mg domperidone).
I feel I am never going to be same again. Please suggest what do I do

Re: Does this work to eradicate h pylori
yea, borderline result is always difficult to interpret. did your specialist happen to order a histology test?
You can probably continue ranitidine for another month and repeat with breath or stool test.

Re: Does this work to eradicate h pylori
No histology was ordered.
The report of endoscopy showed RUT negative, but when my GI was looking at the RUT kit specimen, I could clearly see that the strip did not turn yellow completely thereby creating a doubt in my mind. The strip had some orange shade in it.
Does it mean that the bacteria were not completely eradicated ?
Should I change my GI and go for another round of endoscopy, or go for stool antigen test (breath test is not available in India)?
Also, the inflammation is still there in stomach. Infact, the recent endoscopy showed mild duodenitis in addition to the mild antral gastritis as showed in previous endoscopy. When I asked my GI about the inflammation spreading in duodenal, he said it might be there from the beginning and he might have not seen it.
What should I do now?

Re: Does this work to eradicate h pylori
stool antigen is a good option when breath test is not available.
Since endoscopy did not see anything abnormal, there is no need for another endoscopy so quickly.
Let's take some ranitidine... ease your symptom... get stool test done..
