Hi,

I am going to 2nd treatment next week.

My symptoms is weird, when I get reflux, i get pain in the left side of the neck. it is like sharp pain. neurological pain.
While i was taking PPI, the pain had gone. when I stopped PPI, The pain occur again

I had breath test and result was positive.
In 1st treatment, I had Nexium PH7 for 7 days, after a month, when I had breath test for the confirmation , The GP said the disintegration rate is increased than before. How come? is it resistance? but my symptom get much better than before though.

My GP give me two options. one is another 2 weeks with nexium PH7, the other is to meet specialist to get more strong antibiotics.
With nexium pH7, my symptom get quite better now, but still the bacteria remain.
I dont want to get strong antibiotics which might cause more serious side effect such as Ulcerative Colitis, irritable bowel disease.

What should do i do?

Could the expert be able to give the advice?

Thanks.

You can try PPI + AMOX + Metronidazole + bismuth

This is a modified triple therapy.

You cannot take clarithromycin any more.

Thank you, Helico_expert,

Has the drug you let me know no serious side effect? like Ulcerative colitis?
and when I had nexium PH7, I had itch and red spot on the foot and disappeared quickly within few hours.
Can i still get the drug you recommended?

I know handling antibiotic is quite hard. that is why I trust advice from here rather than specialist.
Thank you and appreciate your advice.

hahaha... i think you better trust the specialist than people in forum.

The antibiotics cannot stop Ulcerative colitis if you are already having one. However, bismuth can prevent C. diff complication.

Hi, experts.

I have got a medicine for 2nd treatment.
Nexium + Amoxcilin + rifabutin.
Can you please explain this rifabutin?
I expected bismuth.
and which probiotic is good for the suppression of helicobacter.
I am not able to start on this medi now because I have exams.
Until the exam will have finished, I need some probiotic.
Can you please recommend that? and Can I keep taking while I am on the treatment of Nexium + Amoxcilin + rifabutin.

Thanks.

rifabutin is commonly used for tuberculosis. It's actually a reserve antibiotic to prevent resistance in the community.

you can mix bismuth to the treatment to boost the success rate. We have use this combination before and it's good.

i cannot recommend any probiotics. I think they are all similar. try a few and pick the one you feel most effective.

Thank you.

I cant add bismuth because I dont have the right.

Without bismuth, Is the combination of Nexium + Amoxcilin + rifabutin still good? any serious side effect?
And when can I take this drug to get more effect after meal or before meal?

Thank you.

I would take the levofloxacin instead of rifabutin as my 2nd treatment, if I have not taken this antibioitics before...

I am not sure if that regime could be combined with Bismuth...to increase the chances for eradicating H.pylori.
Perhaps Helico_expert could let us know.

PPI + Amox + Rifabutin has good eradication rate too.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4284035/

it will work with or without bismuth.

Levoflox is a good choice too. You can replace Levoflox with a cheaper version, ciproflox.
