Here is what the report said. What does that mean?

it means normal. no ulcer, no cancer. So no need to worry too much. if pathology reports come back positive of H. pylori (very likely), then you just take antibiotics to get rid of it. |

Thank you for the reply. My GP told me that I am HP free. He said the minor inflammatory may have been from my aspirin and coffee abuse over the months prior, and put me on a PPI for 3 months to clear it up. What foods should I not eat? I was thinking acidic foods, and obviously coffee and any NSAIDs. Also, I've been taking the PPI around lunch; when is the best time?

I fear the inflammation will turn into an ulcer if I'm not careful with diet.

Also, I've read some bad stories about long use of PPIs. Like problems with aborting certain nutrients, and something about affecting the bones. Is this true?

PPI has been on market for a long period of time. It should be considerably safe. NSAIDs is the culprit for thinning your stomach mucous that protect your stomach from acids. So, just avoid NSAIDs in the future and you'll fine. No other restriction on other food. Just eat moderately. over dosing anything good will turn bad.

Thanks guys.

Also, how long does gastritis normally last when on PPIs? I heard 3 months from my GP, but was wondering if this is just an estimate. Cheers.

i assume "gastritis" you meant the symptom of feeling unwell in the stomach. The recovery is different among individual. usually people feel better within a month. But there are people who waited months before the actually feel better. If you read the forum deep enough, you'll find someone waited 3 years to actually feel better.

Thank you, I was kinda sensing it would take awhile.

In regards to the question, yes the symptoms. However I was wondering about the inflammation itself, and whether the gastric mucosa that is eroded by the NSAIDS actually repairs itself? Cheers

NSAIDs has a nasty side effect by removing your gastric mucus. Without the gastric mucus, your stomach acid start digesting your own stomach. Hence, the ulcer. So, if you stop taking NSAIDs, your mucus will start building up and then your stomach has a chance to heal.
