Antibodies can stay in the body for a long time. But not everyone has a long term memory cell for H. pylori. Some people's anti-HP antibody only remain in the body for a few months.
as for the info about HP surviving outside human body, sorry I missed this post. HP does not survive well outside human body. So there is very little information about this. For most, there is a couple of papers mentioned about detecting HP DNA in water. Then again, detecting DNA doesnt mean the bacteria is alive.
