H pylori. in the Pancreas

Hello,

I thank you in advance for reading my question. There have been some recent conflicting studies about H. pylori in the Pancreas and its association with pancreatic cancer.

1) Can H. Pylori survive in the pancreas?
2) Can H. Pylori be present in the pancreas but not the stomach?

Thank you very much,
Mrs. woody

Although studies have detected DNA from pancreas, we surely have not seen a live H. pylori in the pancreas before. Base on my understanding, H. pylori has evolved to very specific to the stomach and stomach only.

Nevertheless, I cannot rule out that there may be other Helicobacter species that may be able to survive and colonise in the pancreas.

since Pancreas is not a common location for H. pylori to colonise, I would believe that it has little connection with pancreas cancer.
