Transmission through Endoscopy or Colonscopy?

How do you catch Hp? From your mother when she kisses you? From brothers and sisters as a small child? From sexual partners as adults (kissing)? From dirty water (fecal contamination)? From animals? Who knows???

Transmission through Endoscopy or Colonscopy?

Post by mrswoody » Tue Dec 22, 2015 9:55 am

Hello,

What is the probability of being infected with H. Pylori during an endoscopy or a colonoscopy.

Thank you very much,

very good question. it really depends on your hospital grade and who is doing the washing. In developed country where most of the nurses and well trained, the transmission through endoscopy will be almost impossible.

There are less chances of the disease being transmitted during endoscopy as the infection occurs when a person eats contaminated food.
