Lower and middle abdominal pain?

The various unpleasant manifestations of Helicobacter can be described here. Remember however that the great majority of persons with Hp have no symptoms that they are aware of and consider themselves normal.

Lower and middle abdominal pain?

Post by Rasha »

Hello everyone,
I’ve been suffering from abdominal pain especially in the upper, lower and middle abdomen since January. It just came suddenly. The pain is concentrated in the left side and radiates to the back sometimes. Plus constipation and bloating.
The results of CT scan and colonoscopy are fine.
BUT gastroscopy, which I had yesterday, showed gastritis caused by our “beloved” H.Pylori :/
The doctor prescribed me a mix of antibiotics and anti-acids to take for ten days.

My question is: Why do I have pain in my lower and middle abdomen if the bacteria is in my stomach?
The pain gets worse one or two hours after eating.
Right now I feel pain on both sides of the abdomen and not necessarily in my stomach :/ plus the constipation and the bloating and nausea :(
Does H.Pylori cause this pain or do I have something in my small intestines? :/
Is it okay to eat Yoghurt?

Thanks a lot!

H. pylori causes inflammation and inflammation causes reduction of mucous that protect your stomach from acid. So you can imagine acid continuously burning your stomach. That's probably where the pain comes from.

the pain could also come from swollen lymph, due to the active inflammation.

let's just solve one problem at a time. Focus on getting rid of H. pylori and see how it goes.

you can eat whatever you want during antibiotics treatment.

Thanks for your reply :) I’m trying to calm down and stay positive. I feel the pain comes mainly from below and under my left rib. It’s painful when I press on :/
The nausea is the thing that annoys me the most :(

yea, it's a good idea to stay calm and positive.

most of the time, the more you think about it, the more you can feel it.

try distract with things you like to do. exercise, movie, reading, anything...
