Breathing issues + other symptoms

Can someone tell me if breathing issues are associated with Helicobacter Pylori??

I remember during the early stages when H. Pylori was just a nuisance, after I ate I would have trouble breathing for 5-15 minutes then I would return to normal.

That was 2 months ago, I've now completed my 1 weeks worth of Nexium HP7. I'm still having this odd symptom where even having some food in my mouth would make me feel weird, and sometimes it would give me the feeling like I could potentially vomit.
I would find it difficult to breathe and I would have to focus on my breathing for at least 20 minutes.

Taking Zofran Zydis used to work wonders for my nausea when I had H Pylori, but now it has no affect with the nauseated feeling

I figured my stomach or oesophagus would be inflamed by food, but no, just having medium quantities of food in my mouth sometimes would trigger this reaction as well as after eating.

Anyone have this, or have had this symptom before?

Other symptoms I've noticed:
Excessive burping. It would feel like I'm going to vomit, but it would come out as a burp. It's very odd because normally a burp comes up normally but since I've had H Pylori it feels much like vomit, because it would come all the way up my throat and would just feel like food or something coming up, not gas.
Sometimes I have to bend sideways a couple of times to release the buildup of the burp. Possible ulcer in my oesophagus?

White patchy-ness on the back of my throat, nothing major, just looks like a couple of small strands of saliva on the back of my throat.

I've googled these symptoms regarding H Pylori and nothing has really come up, I hope someone can tell me its normal or related! I'm sick of being unable to eat food because of this bacteria!

I am not sure if your breathing and weird throat problem is related to H. pylori. Probably it is not typical. However, the healing of your stomach after eradication of H. pylori takes time. depending on individual healing power and the severity of the damage, some people can take up to months to recover to normal. I suggest you wait for another 2 to 3 weeks, then regardless of your symptoms, go for a followup breath test.

I definitely experience breathing issues. In fact, I was wondering if something else was causing my problems.
About a month ago I would wake up at night with chest pressure and elevated heart rate. Nothing crazy, about 80 bpm but loud- it made it hard to sleep. The doc ran tests and xrays, everything was normal. I then noticed chest pain (more like pressure) after eating meals, all the way up to my clavicles. Sometimes my throat would feel tight as well. I had no stomach pain at all though. I did the barium swallow which showed no problems. Blood work finally showed positive for h pylori. I tried the HP Pac but quit after 4 days due to side effects. It's been a week since I stopped.

This morning I woke up with nasal congestion and chest pressure. I can take a deep breath and my lungs feel fine but the pressure definitely makes it harder to breathe. It's not the first time this has happened. Also, my face gets red and itchy. I can't figure out what causes it.

I was prescribed quadruple therapy but am afraid to take it. Trying to let my body recover before subjecting it to more drugs. In fact, other than the chest pressure and elevated heart rate, I don't have many other symptoms. Can you have h pylori with no stomach pain or issues?

more than 50% of the world population is infected with H. pylori. but only about 10% of them have symptoms. many people never findout they are actually carrying H. pylori. So the answer to your question is yes. You can carry H. pylori without symptom.

before your quadruple therapy, can you stop any acid reducing drug for 2 weeks and go for a follow up breath test? you may be lucky that the 4 days treatment eradicated your H. pylori.

if you already started the quadruple therapy, then just make sure you finish the course. It is very important that you finish the antibiotics in the given period of 10 days. Because if you dont kill them all, you are just going to make them stronger. And then, you'll need to take even stronger antibiotics, and even more side effects. So dont stop if you started the treatment, and dont start if you think you will stop the treatment earlier.

I went to the ER last march exactly because of a scary breathing issue. They did 2 EKG S, 2 Chest xrays, specific blood test involving as well checking for the heart and all was fine. I went to cardiologist, had an echo cardiogram and a stress test and every thing came out fine.
Since march, my quality of life is bad, because of this same exact breathing issues you have. My primary doctor did not help me at all and was rude and frustrated because he could not figure out as why I had those symptoms. I got rid of him.

I believe that God is great, and something told me I was infected by something...so by faith, something pushed me to go to banners same day clinic getting tested for different kind of contagious disease, such as HIV, Hepatitis A, B & C, valley fever and syphilis. All came back negative.I have been working in the nursing field for many years, were specimen at time splash on your eyes, lips, and or gloves breaking.

But what the doctor did, is decided on his own to test me for H/PYLORI and here it was, I was infected. He told me that he wanted to test me for this because it does causes shortness of breath.
I have studied a lot about parasites, alternative medicine and so on, and never I have heard of the Helicobacter pylori. I was shocked. I have not taken any medicine for 18 yrs, at least, and me being allergic to so many things, I was even afraid to take the medication, but I was so infected, I could barely walk to the clinic 7 days ago, I could not eat any longer, my shortness of breath was so bad, I was losing my strength and my hair, difficulty with swallowing, My stomach was bloated and I felt like a block of cement was on the inside at the top of my stomach, and felt that it was eating me alive and I honestly felt like I was not going to make it alive for to long. I knew there was no other way but to be treated with regular medicine.

Since last March, I have the same exact symptom like you with the shortness of breath..and the same pattern of 7 to every 15 minutes having a good deep breath. While taking my medication, It got better but not good enough to have a normal quality of life.
A logic reason would be that, if someone is infected with H.PYLORI, the blood is as well infected with the bacteria and the bug need oxygen to live on and deprive the host of oxygen...while being deprived, the organs are not functioning as well without the normal amount of oxygen..that would be one way to look at it but definitely need to being fallowed up with an DR Infectious disease specialist and that Is exactly what I will do. I will also ask the doctor to run a blood test, stool test and urine test to see if I am infected with other parasites.

When you have weird symptoms, the first thing to look at and most people don t think of, is to be tested for different infectious diseases, parasites and protozoan s infestations. It need to be ruled out before looking deeper into any other potential issues.

Only after this I would see a gastroenterologist.

Lets not forget that once infected with H.Pylori, the diet need to change so the infection does not come back, and also because the stomach lining has been damaged it needs repair with probiotic s while eating a gluten free diet to give a chance to the gut to repair it self..adding, adopting a new life style of natural foods. Rinse your raw fruit and vegetable with vinegar to kill parasites ...

I hope I can truly find out from a wise doctor as why there is a shortness of breath,,it has to be a solid reason as why I have read that so many people infected with H.Pylori have the same pattern of shortness of breath....

I like to comment that the above statement is not true. H. pylori does not go into the blood. H. pylori only colonise the stomach and no other place. Some scientists found H. pylori DNA in the mouth but rarely able to culture viable H. pylori from mouth. Similar to stool sample. In addition, H. pylori is microaerophilic, meaning less oxygen environment is required to survive. Therefore, oxygen is not very friendly to H. pylori.

I am not sure if H. pylori is the culprit for your short of breath symptom. Nevertheless, there is no harm getting a set of treatment and see if your problem can be solved. In addition, you'll be taking 2 or 3 types of antibiotics. The treatment may also eradicate the "unknown" infection that causes your problem. Do keep us updated with your treatment.

Thanks.

Hi,

I too have had h Pylori infection last year and took antibiotics. Few symptoms I m having now:

1. Burping a lot, which I have to bend in order to release
2. Fullness of stomach if I eat even small amount of food.
3. Nauseated feeling with pain in upper abdomen/ chest area.

Have you got cured of your symptoms now. Please help me how you got rid of the same?

Hi Sandy, have you checked if you still have H. pylori?
