If you have good hygiene, eg. brush teeth, wash hands, not sharing food and drinks, after H. pylori is eradicated, I dont think you'll catch it again.

Have fun in Brazil. be positive!
The only thing is I wont know if this treatment worked or if it worked and I catched it again in brazil. What if I kiss someone or have sex? What about water used to cook food, for example, salads in restaurants.

What dose of bismuth would you recommend to add to my 7 day triple therapy (IPP+amo+claryth?)

I bought the meds for the quadruple, how can I conserve them? In the fridge? They all have a 1 year expiration date, so they are good until June 22th 2019.

thank you

H. pylori is not spread through sex or food. As long as the person you are kissing with also have good oral hygiene, you wont catch it. In Australia, we prescribe bismuth 240mg, 4 times a day.

Check the packaging of your antibiotics. Usually tablet can be stored in room temperature. Only liquid form need to be kept in fridge.

Hello there,

Tonight is my last dose of the 7 days triple therapy. I don't know if it's the antibiotics, but I seem to burp/belch more when taking the drugs. Is this normal? I'm kind of nervous to see if my symptoms are gonna go away or stay there.

some people develop "reflux" symptom during and after treatment. no exact explanation yet. I believe it's because your stomach is trying adapt to a new bacteria free era. So it's adjusting itself.

Some people reflux symptom recover right after stopping antibiotics. but it may be longer for some people. could be weeks or months.

If your burping has acid, then you need to take PPI to control your acid. That will protect your throat. If you think the burping is because the food stay longer period in the stomach, then the fermentation makes you feel bloating and burping out gas, then you can ask your doctor for some medication (such as domperidone or mosapride) to help your stomach process food out smoother.

Hi,

As soon as I eat something, I feel like something is stuck and it needs to get out. I don't really feel any acidity. It's like I just ate a banana and I feel like it's there is a pressure and it needs to get out. I just started to feel like this Tuesday afternoon, the last day of my antibiotics and PPI. My doctor hasn't told me to continue taking PPI. Is it something that happens frequently? I never had PPI on my life before. Should I continue to take bismuth?

you dont have to continue bismuth after the treatment.

PPI is subjective. If you are feeling reflux, then you can take PPI. otherwise, you can gradually stop it too.

you are probably still experiencing the side effect of antibiotics. let's wait for a week and see how it goes.
