Re: GI MAP

So I had diarrhea the last 4 days and went into the walk in clinic and asked to be tested for C diff. The results are back and I do indeed have c diff. It’s been 3 months since pylera....

They prescribed me vancomycin.

Super frustrated.

It’s been 5 weeks since I’ve been off PPI and PYLERA. I just got the stool antigen test back and it is negative. :)

Re: GI MAP

I stopped Pylera oct 9th and itch started about 4-5 days later and continues today. It only occurs after BM for about an hour. However I think the itch has gotten less severe. If it is a yeast infection, is that something that can be treated with eating low-yeast/carb (already doing that) and probio...

Re: GI MAP

I’ve been having a rather embarrassing problem after the Pylera. My anus itches after BMs. Wasn’t happening during Pylera, only a couple days after and still today. I’ve been taking a probiotic. Will this itch go away?

Re: GI MAP

The NP told me that even after 2 months of PPI, in my case, I won’t need to gradually stop it. I told her I had thought you needed to gradually stop and she said again nope not when you’re on it for that short of time. Well I was on it for only 2 weeks. So I stopped taking it without stepping gradua...

Re: GI MAP

I decided to stop PPI instead of being on it for 2 months straight. After stopping, I did start getting reflux again right away. I was obviously hoping that if Pylera did kill the HP that I’d maybe be healed from the reflux, but I’m sure it takes time as well. What’s interesting is I decided to go l...

Re: Pylera almost killed me

I was just on Pylera for the whole 10 days. I didn’t have an adverse reaction like that. I drank lots of water. Everyone is different. Pylera did cause some dizziness and sensations at times and I could see how that could trigger panic.

Re: GI MAP

What exactly causes the false-negative result on stool antigen tests or breath tests while on the PPI and not the H2 blocker? What is chemically happening with the PPI to cause a potential false-negative? I am on the last day of PYLERA ; 2 more doses by end of day and I'm done. Overall it's been pre...

Re: GI MAP

I agree that thinking about it can make it worse for sure. I did not end up puking, just felt like I almost wanted to. After I was done with the BMs, that sickish feeling stopped. I also am slightly dizzy feeling regularly. If I move around too quickly is when I noticed it the most. Just generally t...
