Re: Complicated helicobacter and gastritis case with negaitive culture

Thanks for updating your story. I think since you are not infected with H. pylori now, your stomach is not likely to deteriorate. Give your stomach some time to recover. You may need to continue PPI for a while.

Levofloxacin is good. but it's the second most easily resistant antibiotics. See if they can get you rifabutin.

Re: Triple Therapy How Best to take

we give the same dose.

Clarithromycin 500mg, 2x a day
Metronidazole 400mg, 3x a day

In the laboratory, metronidazole is one of the easiest drugs that H. pylori can become resistant to very quickly. So a higher dose will prevent that.

I strongly agree that you need a follow up breath test to find out if you have H. pylori. I also agree that Pylera is expensive. Perhaps you ...

Re: Treatment

You can take whatever you have left to complete it treatment. It's ok to take them without Amoxicillin. If you have H. pylori, and it survived 13 days of strong antibiotics bombardment, it really doesnt matter if you take another 13 days of treatment (because of antibiotic resistance). But, part of ...

Re: Triple Therapy How Best to take

it's ok to spread out. but it's more important to take them consistently at the same time. That will keep the antibiotic level constant in the blood.
