Helicobacter Sensitivity Testing didn't work now new treatment?

Post by James88 » Wed Nov 02, 2016 5:16 am

Hi All,

I had a endoscopy last week to take biopsies for Sensitivity testing.

Basically they said the following a week later -

"Extensive biopsies for culture and sensitivity for helicobacter. Unfortunately helicobacter has not been isolated on the three separate specimens."

I had reservations that the lab may not be able to do this analysis, is this the correct process?

They now recommend I take a 14 day treatment consisting of - "Bismuth, Metronidazole, Tetracycline and proton pump inhibitor".

I have tried numerous treatments to eradicate helicobacter in the past.

Thanks

it is not easy to culture H. pylori. So have you tried any of these new antibiotics before? if not, it is a good treatment.
