Hi All- I am Jason.

I have had chronic GI issues since 2002. I was on a 5 month course of levaquin and shortly after i stopped i picked up Giardia on a river trip in Oregon (yes bad luck). After that for the next decade I went on to develop gastritis, severe lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance, food sensitivities, constipation, hiatal hernia, hard stools, fissures, a fistula and hemmorhoids. More recently I developed severe geographic tongue, oral lichen planus and always have a sour taste in my mouth. I made some progress with the GI issues and eliminated a lot of things from my diet. but now i am so restricted cause of my oral issues and as a result about 20 lbs underweight. My routine blood work has always been pretty normal save for mild increases in creatinine and minor drops in my T3. I also tested positive for epstein barr and believe i had a re-activation a year ago when the geographic tongue started. I have had every test in the book. H.pylori blood test was negative a few yrs ago and stool test was negative in 07. had 3 hydrogen and methane breath tests all negative. had the cyrex leaky gut test and it was negative. i also have depressed levels of sIgA. in 2012 i went on a course of rifaximin and shortly after i developed horrible bloating that i have had ever since. I am sensitive to fructose, fibers, prebiotics, legumes - they all cause bloat. The initial part of my bowel movements are always hard so i have to take Mg Citrate daily or i wont go and my fissure will split open.

SO..I just spoke with a new functional medical specialist and he feels i may have h.pylori. So I am going for the urea breath test on Friday and will repeat the stool antigen test.

My question is does it sound like there is a good chance i have h.pylori? My biggest problem right now is my mouth. between the lichen planus and geographic tongue I can barely eat and its in a constant state of inflammation for over a yr which has me really scared cause i dont want to get cancer.

appreciate any suggestions

thanks

Jason

Sorry, that was spam. we have quite a few of that recently that sneak in.

anyway, since you had quite a few rounds of antibiotics treatment, there may be a chance that your H. pylori already been killed. Nevertheless, if your Friday test turns out positive, please ask your doctor to book you an endoscopy and perform an antibiotic sensitivity testing. Because you already had a few rounds of antibiotics, it would be best to find out what antibiotics is your H. pylori resistant to before taking any other treatment.

Thanks had an endoscopy as well but not dealing with that again. I only took rifaximin and i believe that may have caused an h.pylori overgrowth but not sure until i see the tests. My doctor has laid out a natural treatment for me. i heard even tests are not 100% accurate and they can produce a lot of false negatives. so even if positive or negative i will still implement the plan to see if i get relief..the key is biofilm disruption otherwise treatments (even antibiotics) wont work. im doing the blood, breath and stool tests now

Although H. pylori react with the pill you swallow to release Ammonia and carbon dioxide, I dont think it's enough to induce burping. I think your burping is just incidental.

do keep us update with your breath test result.
