I have H pylori and my biggest issue has been getting a positive test. A duodenal ulcer was found a year ago and my doctor said I must have H pylori even though he couldn't find it on endoscopy. I got treated twice with two lots of triple therapy. Still had symptoms. Ive done NHS stool tests, Private stool tests on Harley street, Genova Diagnostics full stool test, private blood tests, and private breath tests. All come out negative. This has been half my problem-getting a diagnosis as I was sure I had H pylori still. This year I thought Id give it one more go and used this stool test below:-
It came out positive and gave me antibiotics my h pylori was not resistant to. My doctor was really shocked by this. I really think these tests are sometimes inaccurate and so if anyone is in a similar position try these. They have a website too,(see below) and I think they may be more accurate as they look for H pylori DNA in stool.
There are several types of tests for H.pylori. The major ones have a their own forum.
