Recovery time ?

There are several types of tests for H.pylori. The major ones have a their own forum.

I'm scheduled for an endoscopy next week, already tested negative once .. so hopefully endoscopy shows something (not cancer) so i can atleast be at peace and try and resolve it... tired of feeling like this.
I don't enjoy food anymore and as much i would like to say i am grateful... I'm finding it difficult to enjoy life right about now. But hey such is life.
Yeah i know what your talking about. Today i don't feel cloudy anymore. When i had HP i used two tablets of Ranitadine a day. I was very anxious sometimes and couldn't eat much. Hummm it's bin a while so i'm thinking how i feld at the time. When i had the 7 day course i immediately felt energetic and a live again. That was also quit a shock! Dammm that stupid bug. So after the treatment my energy level went down again but that is getting better everyday. I am hungry again although it's not so much.

Some people say you shouldn't eat fat or sugar but you should. Your body needs it. Just be careful and listen to your body. I am wondering when i can drink soda and lot's of wine again! I will enjoy that!!!

One of my friend too had HP. He was very depressed and worried after the treatment as he was badly diagnosed by his doctor. And then he consulted another GP from a reputed clinic and got recovered soon. The main thing which you need is patience and take good diet. If the symptoms are getting stronger then try following the better treatment as suggested by your GP. Hope you get well soon.

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me about his /her recovery?? I was treated in November 2015, but still struggle with many symptoms : mainly reflux (I never had similar issues before the antibiotics) adrenal fatigue after eating, issues digesting fats, ear ringing and I can't gain my weight back. I feel physically very weak as I'm already quite tiny.

Any positive news? Story?

Thank you all!!

I can finally say that I feel 95% better. It has taken a while and I have been able to reintroduce all foods except for the spicy foods which I desperately miss. I have no problems laying down or exercising daily and I gave up my wedge pillow months ago. I would love to be able to go back to my spicy diet but that might take or while or never happen again.

i was diagnosed with H.pylori via breathe test in august and started 1 week treatment in september... waited 1 month after treatment to check if bacteria is gone via stool test but it was positive again... so second therapy was for 14 days and it was awful. so completed second treatment in november and stopped PPI then also... waited 4 weeks for a stool test to confirm it was negative. However, my symptoms still persist... i do not enjoy eating food anymore because i get nauseas right after! which in turn gives me anxiety when eating out with people as i could vomit or burst into the toilet anytime.... so it has completely ruined my social life! the burping and the gas is bad and constant now.. Ive been taken Mastic gum, probiotics, manuka honey, ginger, turmeric, aloe vera juice..... you name it! but the nausea and excess gas is still there. my question is... is this all part of the recovery? or is there another reason or possible explanation for this? it has been over 5 weeks since my last treatment.... should i be patient and give it a couple more weeks/months for recovery? I only had H.pylori with no ulcer... :( :( :( :( :(
I also recommend probiotics - but try actual supplements, not some probiotic yogurt. They should be able to advise you in a drug store.

Avoid sugars as much as possible (table sugar, fruits, fruit juices, soda, honey, milk, sweets). Also avoid foods high in soluble fiber (barley, oats, rye, legumes).
For me it has been a long healing process. I had my treatment back in July and it has been a very slow process. I am still not able to eat any citrus, spicy, uncooked onions, garlic or drink regular coffee or alchohol. Even a decaffeinated coffee will start the feeling again. If I choose to have a decaffeinated coffee then I have to be very careful with anything I eat for days. It is frustrating and has put quite a damper on my social life. I have even had to stop my yoga classes because I can't comfortably lay flat for longer than a minute. I take probiotics every day, sleep on a wedge pillow, etc. These seem to help and I do feel that there is improvement but it is considerably slower than I imagined. I long for my previous life.
Did you ever get 100% better?

I totally feel your pain. I did the triple therapy then waited for a month and retested.. positive.. completed the quadruple therapy and have another week to retest. I did go to the GI doctor but he told me that the treatment would be the same. If I test positive again he said there is yet another round of even stronger things before he scopes me. He thinks I developed dyspepsia from it. My big thing and I am not sure if you or anyone else has felt this but I feel pressure under the right side of my rib cage. Nothing painful just annoying. I am eating so clean and healthy and taking probiotics, Manuka Honey, Oregano oil and something the GI doctor gave me called IBGuard.. I’m so worried I’m still positive because of that pressure and still bubbly stomach.. I am so discouraged.. I hope that what your feeling is normal because I don’t have the pain but just still feel some of the same symptoms
