assume that your specialist who did the endoscopy on you is good, the HP negative result is accurate. At least you can focus on the recovery knowing that the HP is not in the equation anymore.

i think your stomach is probably still adjusting itself to a new no HP environment. after all, you are most likely already infected when you are a child and your stomach had been growing and evolving to adapt with the presence of HP for decades. Now that HP is gone, it can take time to adjust too.

nevertheless, i assume there is no abnormality spotted in your august endoscopy. So you have nothing to worry about. Just eat healthy and wait for it to be better again.

Just for my peace of mind, I went for a stool test today. But I think I might have made a mistake. I took Famotidine 30 mg yesterday, and I just read on this forum that you should stop h2 blocker 24 hrs before the stool/breath test. Does this mean I should re-test?

i think it's not too bad. H2 blocker is not as strong as PPI. Since you have already done the test. let's wait for the result. if you get a borderline negative, then it's suspicious. if it's a very low negative, then it's most probably true.

I got the result back, it is negative. However it does not state borderline negative or low negative........just says negative (this was a stool test).

assume that it's accurate. congratulation in getting rid of H. pylori. Now you can focus on the recovery. probiotics or mint tea may help.
