PPI to heal gastritis

Post by photon » Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:52 pm

Has anyone taken or need to take an acid reducer to heal gastritis AFTER confirming eradication of H pylori? Its been 8 months free from h pylori for me and I stil have very bad gastritis and reflux but im afraid of the PPI side effects (long term) and shor term (this is the worst for me).

But I think I have to bite the bullet because zantac and other acid reducers dont do anything at this point.

unfortunately some people developed reflux syndrome after eradication of H. pylori. it is not sure why. and the recovery varies. Some people takes weeks to recover and some takes years.

The side effect of PPI is osteoporosis. PPI may reduces Calcium absorption. You can read more about it from http://www.pharmacytimes.com/contributo ... r-patients

nevertheless, it is important to protect your throat from acid burn.
