Effect of H Pylori on stomach acid levels?

Post by Johno87 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 8:50 pm

Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea for the effect of H pylori on stomach acid levels, both before and after eradication.

I read some studies that said H pylori inhibited acid levels, meaning a high ph. What happens after the h pylori is killed? Do stomach acid levels return to normal, and if so how long does it take?

Measuring acid juice pH is not something we routinely do. However, for those that we measured, there is little to no difference between before and after. In both cases, they are around pH 1-3. Nevertheless, this data is not statistically tested. However, either it is pH1 or pH3, they are both very acidic.
