Attempt to get rid of HP through diet?

The cure of Hp usually requires antibiotics. Other things have been tried and have a weaker effect.

Attempt to get rid of HP through diet?

Post by Siff »

I've been diagnosed with HP 6 months ago but I suspect that I had HP for 5+ years since I came onto discovering it by trying to figure out why I been underweight and fatigued all my life (I'm 30).

before 1st antibiotic treatment I tried doing dietary treatment which did not work, cameback positive for HP

1st antibiotic treatment: Omeprazole and Amoxicillin, & bismol tablets, cameback positive yesterday :(

I've been reading horror stories of people going through 6+ antibiotic treatments and I am really afraid of symptoms and eradicating good bacteria in my stomach. So I want to try dieterery eradication again for 3 months:

things to stop eating:
sugar
grains / gluten
eat less crabs
alcohol
coffee?

things / supplements to start eating:
fish and beef
eggs
healthy fats (butter / virgin coconut oil)
steamed broccoli / cauliflower
yams

spice tea (green tea, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, clove)

Raw turmeric (snack on during the day)
Garlic
Ginger

probiotics (2caps/day)
Vitamin C (5g/day)
Mastic Gum (1g twice a day)
Munka Honey (2 spoons/day)
Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (after meals)
diatomaceous earth food grade (1tbs/day with water)

thoughts? suggestions? I know people will say that antibiotics is the only way to go but there got to be another way

The reason antibiotics are the only way is because H. pylori hide itself deep under the mucous layer and between stomach cells (tight junction). Normal food will not be able to go through the mucous layer and even if they do, they cant possibly reach the tight junction. Therefore, whatever you are eating, has to go through the blood system and attack H. pylori from behind enemy line, where it enters the tight junction and inside the cells.

by the way, I have never heard of PPI + Amox + Bismuth treatment. not sure what is the cure rate of this treatment. However, H. pylori will never gain resistance to Amox and Bismuth. So you can always repeat it with one additional antibiotic to make it a quadruple therapy. Here is a list of out treatment. You may discuss with your doctor.

One thing I am wondering is what does the bacteria eat? I cant imagine it being the stomach lining because otherwise it would just eat the stomach. I assume it is sugars? confirmed here https://microbewiki.kenyon.edu/index.ph ... ter_pylori

My philosophy is if I can convert my body to the state of Ketosis vs current Glycolysis than HP would just leave the body or die off (at least I am hopeful of this hypothesis)

The treatment was from Dr.Milani who was said was a student of Dr. Barry J. Marshall in Maryland

H. pylori directly or indirectly kill your stomach cells and absorb nutrients from the dead cells. As the stomach cells die, they dont produce enough mucous, and the acid start attacking your own stomach cells and you get ulcers. That's why you can keep taking PPI to control the acid. your ulcer will cure, but once you stop taking PPI, your ulcers come back.

Hi, from personal experience diet and supplementation won't help eradicate h. pylori. I think they can alleviate symptoms and can to speed the healing if there is a lot of damage done. By the way, DGL supplements are meant to be consumed before meals so they can coat the irritated stomach. Good luck!

As one of the member of forum, DGL supplements are meant to be consumed before meals so they can coat the irritated stomach. This is maybe a good method. Hope you to get the good result.

I've tried the natural way with: broccomax, DGL, Vitamin C, Mastic Gum and many thing more and it did nothing! You won't kill this bug entirely the natural way. Maybe you can decrease the amount of bacteria and you will feel a little better, but when you stop the treatment it comes back.
I took antibtiotics 2 times, the second time for 10 days and I got rid of it finally and the side effects were not so bad. I could even work, while I took the meds.

I guess that depends on the species that the person is infected and co-factors. Many people have h. pylori and never have any symptoms all their lifetime or at least just very mild gastritis. If you run a search you'll find that many people without symptoms had h. pylori detected in routine blood tests.
In my case neither food, nor supplementation helped to relieve symptoms even slightly. It was persistent burning pain in my upper abdomen and achlorhydria (low stomach acid).
Another example is my grandfather which probably had h. pylori since a child and eventually had part of his stomach removed due to a bleeding ulcer many decades ago.

well my major and i think only symptom is enormous fatigue / tiredness...I feel sleepy all the time, constant circles under my eyes, light sensitivity etc (despite good sleep and diet) and this is how HP got discovered...everything else like sleep apnea and depression was ruled out

my biggest worry is antibiotics not working and mutating it into an even worse thing which may cause worse symptoms
