Resistant blastocystis (Need Your Help for foreign patient w

You mostly catch H.p. as a child. In most studies it was found that children has the same strain as their mother. In developing countries transmission is common when hygeine is poor, or when water and food is contaminated with faeces. H.pylori likes moisture so toilet areas must be kept clean and dry.

Resistant blastocystis (Need Your Help for foreign patient w

Post by tanc » Tue Jun 24, 2014 7:27 pm

Dear Dr. Barry Marshall!

I am an emigrant from Ukraine and live in USA. I am suffering from very refractory sybtype of blastocystis huminis cysts. (tried several oral antibiotics Metronidazole 500 mg 3 times per day for 14 days in USA, back in my country I tried Tinidazole, Trichopol all resulted in therapeutic failure). I might have genetic predisposition to this type of protozoa infection, my grandmother from my mother side contracted malaria when she was a child). I am physically very weak (100lbs, 5'7") and I do not have financial means to travel to Centre for Digestive Diseases in Australia to undergo intra-colonic antibiotic infusion. Here in USA, unfortunately there is no requested medication such as Secnidazole in raw powder or tablets. I do have prescription from USA doctor, would you be so kind and ship very needed Secnidazole ideally in raw powder.

Thanks a lot!!!

Sincerely,

Tanya

Dear Tanya,

Thank you for sharing your story. However, as you may notice, Prof. Barry Marshall and this forum is specialised in Helicobacter Research and treatment. We give advise to people in terms of how to get rid of nasty and multi drug resistant Helicobacter pylori. We are not registered to supply or export any antibiotics (or medication). Hopefully some supplier of Secnidazole will read this post and help you further.

Dear Tanya,

You can have the anti-parasitic medicatiosn shipped to you from kingsway compounding in Australia. www.kingswaycompounding.com. You will need to email them a script frm your doctor.

There is triple therapy suggested for Blastocytosis Homonis. I suggest you work with a parasite specialist and not H. Pylori as yet, once you have eradicated Blasto then treat H. Pylori is my suggestion.

Please note I am not a medical doctor and you should always defer to your health professioanl.

All the very best.

Dear Truthseeker28,

I already contacted several Australian Pharmacies and all of them told me that they need Australian Doctor presciption, but not USA Doctor prescription in order for them successsfully ship the requested medication (there is an issue to go via custom house).

I spoke with Sydney Compounding Chemist Pharmacy (Carlingford Court Chemist), Complementary Compounding Services, Sydney South Compounding Chemist and all of them pretty much said the same and do not want to ship it.

Thanks a lot.

Tanya

P.S. I will try today www.kingswaycompounding.com
