Hello Helico_expert & everyone,

I did research when ANTI - HP IGG blood results were very low and I think it's important, I wanted to share with you immediately.

I read the below articles, atrophic gastritis patients IgG result low or to even disappear over time.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12969017

in another study; In the present study, we found that 9.3% of patients enrolled in this study were falsely sero-negative for H. pylori infection.

I think it make sense and potentially a very strong marker. Nevertheless, in countries where H. pylori prevalence is low, it is too costly to breath test everyone. Hence, blood test is always the first choice.

In countries with high H. pylori prevalence, it is more practical to do breath test as almost every blood test is positive.

For those that had already diagnosed with H. pylori, the follow up test is always breath or stool test.

I agree but it is too bad that antibodies turn negative after a certain period. This leads to false diagnosis.

Already in the metaplasi stage in many diagnostic methods can not prove the presence of bacteria.

Gastric cancer usually happen after 50s. So get check up when you are young. and get at least one endoscopy done in your 50s. The dilemma is that when you are young and healthy, you are usually asymptomatic. When you dont have symptoms, you dont worry about it.
