Galbladder removed Helio positive.

in 2007 I started having problems with acute pain across the whole of my abdomen which came and went in waves, i was referred to the hospital for a scan and a appointment with the surgeon in which he decided to remove my Galbladder, i hoped this would cure the problem.
Two days after i had my surgery i woke in acute pain and started vomiting, i was taken back into hospital where they did tests and said that my Liver function test was very low and they though a stone was travelling. I was kept in hospital for three days and because i didnt get worse they discharged me. After about two months i started with gas which absolutley stinks, it smells that bad that my husband will sit at the other end of the room and can smell it, the day after i get chronic Diarrhea which lasts all day and allso smells foul but luckly no vomiting, i have had these episodes at least once a month since, always the same symptoms in the same order. In between these episodes i get nausea in which i cant decide wether i am hungry or want to vomit!! and headaches. I had just presumed that i have just been run down and my stomach has been off until i looked through the drawer at home and found a letter from the Hospital back in 2007 that was sent to my gp and copied to me which said that i had tested Helicobacter positive, which has led me to your site. Could all these problem i am having be a cause of testing positive if so what do you suggest.

I do hope it is by helicobacter pylori. at least helicobacter can be relatively easy to remove. go back to your GP and get some antibiotics to remove your helicobacter pylori. unfortunately the symptoms may stay a while even after H. pylori eradication.

Thanks for your reply, i will ring and make an appointment, i think i will take the letter with me aswell just incase they have misplaced it. It would be great if all my problems will go, but i am not putting all my hope into it Just in case.

I have also experienced the hunger/vomit feeling, it's not pleasant at all, I have no idea if it from the h. pylori or if it is something else.

Was the helio found in your removed gallbladder? or was it a second testing that showed it? I also had my gallbladder removed in an emergency situation, and have often wondered if it was linked to h. pylori, even mildly.

As for the gas, diet change is important after having your gallbladder removed because the liver has less control over how much bile is being released, cutting back on foods that are high in oils and grease is a must to control it, this might also help with the effects of the next day. I would do some more research on living without a gallbladder because it really does affect people differently.

I am not sure how much damage H. pylori does to gallbladder. but H. pylori has been detected from gallbladder. you can have a read from the following link

I thought there might have been a link to the gallstones and the h. pylori in my case, though the doctors never said as much.

At least some gallbladder problems have been linked to exotic Helicobacter infections - or contaminations. Its difficult to say that it is a major thing however. If you have your gallbladder out it could worsen the symptoms of H.pylori so you should also treat the Hp as well as the gallbladder.
