only when H. pylori is completely eradicated, then only you will recover. So please make sure that you are free of H. pylori.

Stool and breath test are both accurate. However, it's more difficult when the test result is at the border line. The accuracy is laboratory dependent. A more skillful laboratory technician usually give more accurate result.

Tip: you have to stop PPI for at least a month before stool or breath test. Alternatively, you can follow this guideline, it works for stool test too.

Silver hawk, I will like to share my own experience with you. I failed the triple therapy of a PPI, Amoxcillin and Levostatin. Now on the 8 day out of 14 of the quadriple of PPI,bismuth, Amox and Clarithromyacin. The discomfort happens every day and more in the evening time...what is interesting is that the discomfort has moved from my stomach down to my gut....and I am wondering if it is what is called die off.....toxins released by these critters as they get eradicated.I am also running the antibiotics with natural remedies like mastic gum,Manuka Honey, black seed, oil of oregano. I am throwing the full army at this bacteria. I have also changed my diet and have taken out all sugar, gluten and diary. I have lost 15 lbs in the last three months
I believe as others have commented that it will be a long journey.
As to the deposit on your tongue....if you wash out and swish around in your mouth with a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of warm water about three times a day for two days.....you will see a miracle happen. This worked for me. Good luck and being calm is part of the healing process as I understand these critters know when our system is stressed and they love this.

Hello again, I hope it's alright to post a question here.

How common is it to become reinfected with H. pylori?

I ask this because I'm dealing with some nausea and an uncomfortable sensation where the esophagus meets the stomach (just below my sternum) the symptoms started just yesterday out of nowhere. I do have acid reflux as a result of the triple therapy treatment I had 3 years ago (follow up test a couple months after completion had come back negative) so I'm hoping it's just the fact that acid has been splashing in that area a lot.

Though anytime I have any GI symptoms, especially nausea/stomach upset, I get so paranoid about being reinfected... the treatment ordeal was awful and I never want to go through it again. :(

So if anyone can provide some reassurance, that would be wonderful!
