Re: Multiple treatments

this is a very hard question. Because we dont know what causes your gastritis after HP eradication. it could be because the mucous producing cells are killed during H. pylori infection, therefore, there is less mucous protection against acid. So the gastritis could due to the acid. If that's the cas...

Re: Symptoms After Treatment

endoscopy is not scary. you most probably wont remember anything during the procedure. if the symptoms have been troubling you for a long time, you should have it done at least once before 50 years old. Nevertheless, if you are going to do the endoscopy, make sure you get your doctor to get CLOtest ...

Re: Multiple treatments

hi, I am glad that your latest endoscopy showed negative of H. pylori. "inactive" means the immune cells are not aggressive anymore. They are in the process of retreating. However, the retreat may be slow, depending on individual's immune system. The immune cells do occupy space and can irritate sur...

probiotics could be the culprit.
but there are so many brands out there. You can experiment with a few brands to see which is most suitable for you.

Re: Undergoing 1st Line of treatment in India

Sorry for the late respond. How are you feeling today? I believe today is the last day of your treatment.
If probiotics had been working, I think it is good to continue.

your other symptoms are probably due to the side effects of the antibiotics. The side effects usually decline quickly.

Re: HP destroyed my life

thanks for sharing your experience here. other than the stomach problem, everything else doesnt sound like H. pylori. I am glad that you feel better after H. pylori treatment and your follow up stool test came back negative. I think endoscopy is a good idea. At least that will rule out the stomach p...

Re: Undergoing 1st Line of treatment in India

Hi, Sorry for the slow response. I think your doctor gave you a very good treatment. The endoscopy examination is probably also very good as there is no report of other abnormalities. so in summary, have you done a follow up test to find out if you still the H. pylori? you'll need to stop PPI for a ...

Re: Symptoms After Treatment

Perhaps you can see a different doctor for the breath test?
what is the raw data of the last breath test?
for example, if the cut off is 50 dpm and you got 1 dpm. I think the chance for a false negative is low.
However, if your breath test is 49 dpm, then I think the negative is suspicious.

Re: Can PPI consumption cause false-positives for the 13C-urea breath test?

hmm.. perhaps your home test kit is cross reacting with other gastric bacteria. I would trust the histology report. the inactive gastritis is the keyword showing that it is now H. pylori free and the immune cells are gradually retreating. your doctor is right about the metaplasia. depending on the s...
